INTRODUCTION
One paragraph using English Department standards:
o What is the question or problem?
o What observations or prior knowledge do you have about this problem?
o State your hypothesis as an If ____., then ____. statement that predicts the result of the experiment.
MATERIALS
o A list of all the materials that are used in the lab in one or 2 columns
PROCEDURE
o A list of the steps of the procedure of an experiment, numbered and in order
o Each numbered item should be no more than one or two complete sentences.
o It may include a labeled diagram on a separate sheet of paper in pencil.
DATA and OBSERVATIONS
o Sequence sets of data in the order in which they were recorded.
o Record all measurements in a data table, or graph, or paragraph.
o Record any observations in a titled list or paragraph.
CONCLUSION
Write your conclusion in essay format using English Department standards.
o Is your hypothesis correct?
o Cite (state) the data that supports or does not support your hypothesis.
o Explain how the results relate to your hypothesis.
o Your explanations should be complete, well organized, and clear.
