This I Believe

This I Believe –

Look at the following examples of a personal narrative essay- These first two are reflections on the Holocaust:

Elie Wiesel’s reflection
Hugo Hass’ “The Power of Self”

Other topics:

Kelly “I Believe in Laughter”
Wayne Coyne’s “Creating Our Own Happiness”
Miles Goodwin’s “The Connection Between Strangers”
Gibson’s “pets and animals” -birdfeeder
Kambour’s “The Freedom of Baseball”
Frerking’s “A Drive to Achieve the Extraordinary”

Now explore the website: http://thisibelieve.org/.  Read or listen to at least five essays, including one of the originals from the 1950s. Write down the titles you read. Now pick one that you think others should experience- a favorite, if you will. On our blog http://8tenglishresponses.blogspot.com/’ll post that list of five, and a link to your favorite, with an explanation of why you selected that one in particular.
